Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship

Scholarship Categories & Applicants

? The first category of scholarship for outstanding international applicants of bachelor's, master's, doctoral degree study and one year or more visiting study

? The second category of scholarship for outstanding international students of bachelor's, master's, doctoral degree study and one year or more visiting study, all of whom have been studying in Chongqing for at least half a year and plan to further their studies for one year or more

Scholarship Criteria

? The first prize of scholarship: CNY 35,000/year for doctoral degree program students, CNY 30,000/year for master's degree program students, CNY 25,000/year for bachelor's degree program students, CNY 10,000/year for visiting students

? The second prize of scholarship: CNY 20,000/year for doctoral degree program students, CNY 15,000/year for master's degree program students and CNY 10,000/year for bachelor's degree program students, CNY 8,000/year for visiting students

Scholarship Eligibility for Chinese-taught Programs

? Non-Chinese citizen in good health

? Meeting SWU enrollment requirements between the age of 18 and 40

? HSK4 certificate with the score of or above 180.

Note: Applicants who fail to meet the requirement about Chinese proficiency should take one year Chinese course before degree studies.

?Non-Chinese citizen in good health

? Meeting SWU enrollment requirements between the age of 18 and 40

? English proficiency requirements (for non-native applicants of English): IELTS 6.0 or TOFEL (Internet-based) 80.

Application & Recruitment Procedures

Online Application and Admission Procedures:

Ø  Log onto the website of SWU online application for international students (https://swu.17gz.org/member/login.do). Complete steps including online name registration, password setting, and verification code input, etc.;

Ø  Click “Download” on the website of SWU online application for international students (https://swu.17gz.org/member/login.do), and download “Application Form for Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship” and “Physical Examination Form for Foreigner”;

Ø  Fill in “Application Form for Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship”. Take physical exam at local public hospital as requested.

Ø  Log into the online application system for international students, then fill in/select certain information, and upload required application documents;

Ø  Confirm all information filled in/selected and documents uploaded, and then click “Submit”;

Ø  Southwest University Scholarship Council evaluates the application materials and reports the proposed enrollment name list of the qualified applicants to Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship Council for approval;

Ø  Getting the final approval from Chongqing Municipal Government Scholarship Council, Southwest University announces the name list of the successful applicants on the website of http://www.scfqjr-tour.com, and notifies them by emails

Ø  Applicants admitted remit application fee CNY 400 to Southwest University bank account;

Ø  “Admission Notice” and “Visa Application for Study in China” (JW202 form) are to be mailed to applicants admitted by the end of June every year;

Ø  Fill in the Application Form for Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship and do physical examination at the local public hospital as requested.

Ø  Prepare the other application documents requested and send the full package of application documents to the International Students Admission Office, Southwest University.

Ø  Southwest University Scholarship Council reviews application documents and reports the proposed enrollment name list of qualified applicants to Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship Council for approval.
